A Word On Search Engine Optimization

Here is a brief word on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) from our Chief Web Architect, Corey Smith that was sent to one of our clients looking to improve their placement in search engines. I thought it was a great, concise description of SEO, so I'm posting it here!
There are three components to Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
1. The system must support all the appropriate hooks and tagging (back end stuff) - yours does
2. The site must have content that is evolving and changing so that Google recognizes that your site is relevant and timely. Your site has very static content.
3. The site must have links back from other sites so that Google sees that it is relevant to other people.
Here is how we can address the three areas.
1. When we create a new dealer site, we make sure the site has all of the elements needed... this item needs no help.
2. Evolving content is the key. You can write news, opinion pieces, case studies and whitepapers and post them 3 - 5 times per week, you can hire us to do that for you or you can choose to do a combination of the two. We have a publishing service that publishes all four content types automatically on a regular basis. All of our content is keyword rich to help with getting proper search engine placement.
3. Getting links back (linkbacks) from other sites can be very time consuming. Some of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure that your manufacturers and partners to link to you. Another is to write feature stories on your clients and hopefully they will link to you. You can also get your local news agencies to link by providing them compelling content... usually case studies are good for this. We provide a service whereby we will write keyword rich content with the goal that news services will pick it up and provide links back to your site.
